Job Description: Youth Pastor Position
First Baptist Church of Ravenswood is affiliated with American Baptist Churches, USA, within the Good Hope Association. We are seeking a mature, bivocational pastor to minister to our youth and families.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual salary: $12,000
- Vacation and educational benefits available through the Bobby Woods School of Christian Studies with the WV Baptist Convention.
- Additional compensation for filling the pulpit and delivering the worship message during the senior pastor’s absence.
This position may be ideal for those seeking their first ministry role or retired bivocational ministers. If you feel called to minister to junior high and high school youth, we would love to hear from you!
Qualifications:
- A strong sense of God’s calling to preach the Gospel.
- A passion for impacting lives through faith and salvation.
- Commitment to recruiting and retaining youth in the Junior and Senior High age groups, along with supporting younger children in our church.
- Applicants must be drug-free, pass a criminal background check, and have a valid driver’s license.
Expectations:
- We have high expectations for this role, as our church has a rich history of nearly 160 years. We seek someone who loves the Lord, the church, and families.
- All individuals feeling the Lord’s call are encouraged to apply.
- Must live a lifestyle consistent with the teaching of this church in accordance with Scripture
- Must become a member of First Baptist Church of Ravenswood

- Recommended candidates will be presented to the full church body for a vote on their call to serve.
- If approved, a start date will be established.
